The outcomes for this session are:
Students will learn the basics of library services.
Students will gain an understanding of the practice of scholarly research in the academic environment and how it differs from internet searching.
Students will be able to differentiate between popular and scholarly information.
Students will learn how to evaluate source material for C.A.B.L.E.S. currency, authority, bias, level, end goal and support for the purpose of determining credibility of information.
Students will learn how to use library resources, online databases, and the internet to locate information and evidence, recognizing that there are different resources available for different purposes in the writing process.
