Six Things You Can Do Now

  1. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food.

  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  3. Stay home when you are sick.

  4. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  5. Remember to stay informed, not afraid. Sensationalized stories or media post are not constructive to making informed decisions about your safety.
